Yugapurushan Sree Narayana Guru

The life and teachings of Sree Narayana guru holds relevance in these times of trouble where suspicion and hatred are the norms of friendly conduct. A movie focussing on a man whose mission in life was the upliftment of people from ignorance is very much welcome. Born into Ezhava family at Chemapanzhanthi in Trivandrum in 1856 he led an ascetic life teaching his followers the goodness of life.

A peace loving non violent sadhu his teaching and philosophies echoed all over and had an impact so large in Kerala that he was selected as the “Malayalee of the Century” in a survey conducted by Malayala Manorama. A poet, Vedic Schola,r his mastery over literature helped him to understand the ways of the world and also contribute immensely in the forms of writings and poems to a sea of followers who reverdly call him Gurudevan. His resting abode at Sivagiri Mutt in Varkala draws thousands of devotees every year .
